Salsa Verde-{charleston sc easy family dinners}

I ventured out recently on a trip to Moe’s and tried the green salsa, aka salsa verde. I couldn’t believe how much I loved it b/c I’m a big fan of red salsa. I found myself getting that the last few times I have gone there so I finally decided to try my hand at it.

Your kids will love pushing the food chopper button 😉

Get your Mexi-fab dishes ready!

It has this thing called Tomatillos in it, which I have to admit, I have NEVER heard of and had to google what they looked like to find them at the store.

Here’s my recipe though I  used fresh tomatillos(peeled) b/c they didn’t have the cans:

3 cans of 1 oz tomatillos or fresh

1/2 small white onion

3/4 cup cilantro

1 tbsp lime juice

1/4 tsp sugar

1 2/3 fresh jalapeno

1/2 tsp salt

I used my black and decker food chopper after dicing everything first by hand.

I made as an appetizer for dinner enchiladas so I went ahead and got this made earlier in the day so I wouldn’t have to prepare it while also cooking our meal.

All arrows lead to salsa verde 😉

It makes for a great appetizer for your fam to munch on until tacos or enchiladas are ready.

Or, great to have out for any sort of gathering or party.
