Middle of July-{things to do in Charleston sc}

This was the first full FREE week we’ve had all summer with no camps, no travel, no real places to be so we had a fun little ‘around town’ week.

Here is some of what we did:

Hampton Park!

This is truly one of my favorite places in Charleston and there are so many different seasons here that make it worth going all the time. Azaleas in the spring, Crepe myrtles in the summer, perfect walk around weather in the fall or winter! My kids have always enjoyed a little duck feeding here so that was our main goal this trip and they had a blast as you can see in the photos. Both sides parted ways happy :).

We started our week in Summerville though and enjoyed the main street and Azalea Park. The kids found about 4 painted rocks, we ate the best biscuit ever at Cuppa Mana, browsed a book store, found the ‘worlds largest sweet tea’, and got some soda+lemonade at Guerin’s old fashioned pharmacy. What a cute little downtown Summerville has. I’ve always thought so. It was fun to explore it more with my littles in tow.

Iphone shots…

We couldn’t leave out Charleston’s downtown so here are a few shots of us at the Battery and walking around a little. The kids don’t love my downtown trips as much, but if they get to play on the cannons and are promised icecream after, they are usually game for an hour or so downtown with me ;):

We also hit up James Island County Park’s splash pad and playground for a ‘preschool reunion’ for Hallie and enjoyed just getting to hang out OUTSIDE in this weeks amazing 80 degree temps. What a nice change from our miserable 100 degree days. I mean truly, this must be what summer feels like in other places.

I love when he does the silliest things to try and make his little sister crack up:

Our long summer days don’t come without these two bickering and driving their mama bananas at least once a day! Don’t be fooled by these photos. It’s not always literal rainbows and giggles. They keep things interesting though and our days full and I’m so blessed to spend mine with these two with a little work thrown in here and there.
