Atlanta GA
We packed as much as possible into the weekend including an epic Atlanta Braves game.
Quick Rundown:
Tips for a Braves Game: Arrive EARLY, there’s so much to do. You can park for Free for 4 hours in the RED DECK right by the ball park.
–Bring a football, food, drinks and snacks. You can hang on the green lawn(pictured below) and throw the ball or eat. There are shops and so many restaurants. You can hop around and try them all even. As of now, they do not have a clear bag policy and still allow you to bring in a bottle of water and your own snacks.
–Once you get inside the ball park gates, walk around and see what’s there before you go to your seats. This way, you know what food you might want later. I found a cute little store that had individual canned beers of all different kinds, cracker jacks, peanuts, candy, etc. You just grabbed things while in line and it moved smoothed and easy. When coming in the gate by the green lawn, it was to the right.

Lodging:
Stone Mountain Park Campground. If you don’t have a camper and don’t want to tent camp, they also have an Inn. This park is beautiful and plenty of outdoor activites. It’s easy to enter and exit and they stay open for re-entry. We didn’t get back from the game until well after 11pm and had no trouble getting back into the park.
If you are going for a quick Braves game trip, the Omni hotel by the park is your best bet! You can walk right out of the hotel and be at the park, restaurants and shops! SO convenient!
Dining:
If you’re going to a Braves game, there are tons of restaurants to pick from at the the Battery area around Suntrust park. We chose Yard House and it was great!
Shopping:
We did check out the Buckhead Draper James b/c I’m a fan of Reese Witherspoon. I bought a super cute coffee mug +a few small gifts but that’s about it. Everything was pricey and the dresses and tops weren’t quite my own style anyway. They should offer you sweet tea while you shop so if they don’t, ask for that(as I had to do:/)! It’s part of the perks of getting to shop there!
Things to do:
We enjoyed hiking up the stone mountain(see photo below of kids at the top). Our kids at 5 and 8 did it pretty easily. It got a little scary towards the top b/c it was slick the day we hiked.
Stone Mtn. also offers a laser light show at certain times of the year. They also have a lake where you can rent kayaks and canoes, go fishing +a village area and train. We didn’t have time for all the park offered, but if we had another day there, we could have done a little more where we stayed.
